    The South Carolina Faith Community Nurses Association is joint providing this activity with the South Carolina Nurses Association.

    VIRTUAL FORMAT VIA ZOOM

    DATES/TIMES: TUESDAY EVENINGS 7:00 PM TO 9:00 PM
    JANUARY 13th through MARCH 17th 2026

    This class for licensed registered nurses will use individualized learning assignments, webinars, and application exercises to enhance learning. Course independent study assignments are to be submitted each week for the duration of the course.

    Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course

    Registered nurses of all faiths are invited to attend the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing training course.

    Faith Community Nurses draw a closer link between their faith and healthcare communities by acting as health educators and counselors to a faith community membership, as well as assisting with homebound,
    nursing home and/or hospitalized congregation members.

    Through this nondenominational program, participating registered nurses receive continuing education hours, as well as the support and resources necessary to implement a Faith Community Nursing program in their own congregation.

    Spring 2026 Course

    *All sessions are Central Standard Time Zone

    Course Meet & Greet: January 28, 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm

    Individual Study: January 28- February 28

    Virtual classroom:

    February 6, 4:30 pm- 8:30 pm
    February 7, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
    February 27, 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm
    February 28, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

    Attendance on above five dates is required.

    Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course
    Winter, 2026: 

    Sponsored by the Faith Community Nurse Network - Twin Cities.

    This updated curriculum (Westberg Institute) is ANCC approved for all 50 states continuing education.  

    Format: Virtual, yet highly interactive

    DATES: classes are on Sundays, 2/22; 3/8/;3/22 and Thursdays 2/26 and 3/12.

    Fee: $435 (Plus the cost of the participant manual.) We provide the 2025 Scope and Standards of Faith Community Nursing to students. Fee also includes a virtual mentoring session. Limited need-based scholarships available. We reserve the right to cancel the course if registrations are below our minimum. Full refund in that case.

    Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course
    Concordia College Parish Nurse Ministry Program, Moorhead, MN

    The Parish Nurse Ministry Program of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN will be offering the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course March 5, 12, and 19 (on-line via ZOOM) and April 9, 10, and 11 (in-person at First Lutheran Church, 619 N. Broadway, Fargo, ND, 58102). The deadline to register is February 5, 2026. The program is open to licensed RNs who are interested in personal growth and/or starting a health and healing ministry within a faith community. 

     Based on the current 2024 curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute, the program topics include: 

    •   The role of the faith community nurse within a health/healing ministry team
    •   Spiritual care and prayer
    •   Integrating faith and health and caring for those experiencing issues across the lifespan
    •  A mentoring session, Service of Healing, and Service of Dedication.

    The program cost of $450 includes the participant workbook, current practice standards for FCNs, and a binder of program specific materials. We are working on the application to offer 36.5 contact hours (ANCC). A small scholarship is available to those who are not sponsored by their faith community. The cost also includes refreshments and some meals for the in-person portion of the course. Lodging is not available on site but there are many hotels in the F/M area.
